i’ve always loved harmonically unusual songs that convey happiness. imo The Beach Boys, The Beatles, ELO, Kero Kero Bonito, and some of the newer hyperpop artists pull it off, but it's pretty rare these days--i feel like the complicated music is all sad, and the happy music is all simple.

so these two are my entries into the "happy but complicated" category.
summertime soundscapes that combine sweetness with depth.

in terms of how they were recorded--
Sahil and i shacked up for 4-ish days in his studio in the basement of this big Brooklyn warehouse-turned-artist workspace. we got sean (bass) and alex (drums) in at the same time after laying down some keys so they could vibe off each other, but everything else we overdubbed. was a really fun experience, just focusing on 2 recordings for 8 hours a day. excited to do it again.
